MUSLALA invites you for research-roaming and action. In fact, to an unlimited number of actions that their common denominator is the location - along the seam line in Jerusalem. There Are different responses to that invisible line – there are those for whom its only a busy road, a quick way from A to B, others choose to cross it every day - a traffic light, railroad excavations, and you are in a different world. There are those who deny it, do not see or recognize its existence in hope that it will disappear or be forgotten. And there are those who live it every day.
MUSLALA is an artistic intervention in the area of Musrara (Morasha in Hebrew). a proposal for an-urban journey between gardens to alleyways and walls, through works of art located at various points, corresponding with a violent history that has left scares on the surface, struggles that can be still felt, all covered with the ancient magical atmosphere and stones of Jerusalem. Variety of distractions, unexpected encounters and surprising reality turn such roaming into a one-time experience.
MUSLALA is located at public areas so a visit is possible on every hour, every day 24\7 .there are Maps at the entrance lobby of Lev Ram Building, the starting point of the route (Haneviim 26 -Ministry of Education). U can also print a map direct from this site.
A recommended option is to choose a route that combines visits to the Museum on the Seam and the galleries that are scattered in Musrara –the Jerusalem print Workshop, the social gallery and the Moral Drefler gallery (both two are operated by the Musrara school for photography, new-media, animation, music and phototherapy ), and the Jerusalem art Center.
MUSLALA invites artists from all shades of artistic practice to contact us for any possible cooperation (installations, collaborations and activities in the urban space). We are eager to have as many forces and idea joining our vision.
